Fred Strype is an award winning screenwriter, director, and producer whose work has been screened and honored in the U.S. and internationally.
He taught screenwriting at his alma mater, Columbia University and for the past decade has headed up the Filmmaking & Moving Image Arts Programs at Sarah Lawrence College, where he also leads the MFA Screenwriting track in Sarah Lawrence's renowned Graduate Creative Writing Program. He has taught screenwriting and filmmaking for twenty-three years, helping more than 500 aspiring writers and filmmakers find their individual creative voice. His students have won awards at the top screenwriting competitions and film festivals around the world, with many currently working professionally as screenwriters, television writers, producers and filmmakers. He is an alum and sustaining member of the Nantucket Screenwriter's Colony and since 2008 has been an annual moderator and panelist at the Austin Film Festival & Writer's Conference. |
